Hello esteemed partners, and prospective students. It is with great pride and enthusiasm that I welcome you to the Olusegun Obasanjo Centre for African Studies (OOCAS) at the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Named after one of Africa’s most visionary leaders, His Excellency Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, this Centre is dedicated to advancing knowledge, research, and dialogue on African studies, with a focus on leadership, governance, and sustainable development.
At OOCAS, our mission is to serve as a hub for intellectual exchange, fostering a deeper understanding of Africa’s rich history, diverse cultures, and pressing challenges. Through interdisciplinary research, capacity-building programs, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to contribute to the continent’s transformation and global relevance.
